The Appalachian Center for Craft is a campus of the nationally accredited School of Art, Craft & Design at Tennessee Tech University. ACC is dedicated to promoting excellence in American craft by teaching both tradition and innovation in professional studio craft, and fostering access to the highest quality craft education, craft artists, craft works and events in a community arts context.
“Weaving on the Hill” is an exhibition of work by current Artist in Residence, Rebecca Smith, past AIR Jessica Hager, recent Alumni Margaret Jane Joffrion and Monya Nikahd, and current students Hannah Dammann and Erin Simmons. Their work displays examples of experimentation, learning, and art-making on the loom. Each artist has spent many hours working in the studio at the Appalachian Center for Craft and has discovered or deepened their passion for weaving in this immersive environment.
This exhibition is curated by Rena Wood, Assistant Professor of Fiber Art at ACC.
