“Photographing for Social Media” on December 19, 2017

The Arts & Culture Alliance is pleased to present a professional development seminar for artists and other creative people on Tuesday, December 19, from 5:30-6:30 PM at the Emporium Center in downtown Knoxville. Join us as we welcome Shawn Poynter!

Shawn will talk about basic photo techniques artists can use to get good pictures of their art and the best practices of showing it on the web. Primarily he will discuss the use of cameras, however he will also talk about phone-cameras as well.


 

Shawn Poynter is a commercial and editorial photographer. Originally from Kentucky, Shawn spent years working in various states before landing in Knoxville in 2006. His editorial client list includes the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and other national and local publications. Poynter recently co-founded the Central Collective, a mixed-use creative space in North Knoxville which hosts creative workshops and events. Poynter’s studio, which he is using to focus on product and portrait photography, is located in the Collective.
