FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Call for Entries: 20th Master Woodworkers Show

The East Tennessee Woodworker’s Guild and the Arts & Culture Alliance of Greater Knoxville are pleased to announce a call for entries for the 20th Master Woodworkers Show. The goal of this biennial juried show is to highlight the work of craftspeople and artists in East Tennessee and the surrounding region. The 2019 show calls for all types of woodwork, from traditional to whimsical, in fine furniture, cabinetry, turning, sculpture, and lutherie. Selected works will be displayed in the main gallery of the Emporium Center at 100 S. Gay Street, Knoxville’s downtown arts anchor location, from November 1-3, 2019. The Emporium is free and open to the public.

The deadline for entries to be received is Thursday, August 1, 2019.

Exhibitors are encouraged to display portfolios along with their featured piece(s). Although there are no formal booths, exhibitors are encouraged to be present as much as possible throughout the weekend show. The entry fee is $65 for up to three works, and additional works may be submitted for $20/each. Entries will be selected by a formal jury, which includes Richard Dwyer, Harold Galbraith, and Ron Young.

The 2017 Master Woodworkers Show was a huge success, featuring 32 artists from four states. Over 2,500 people attended the 3-day show, and several craftspeople garnered significant sales from the gallery floor. There are no commission fees on any work sold during this weekend show.
