Knoxville News Sentinel: It’s long, it’s tall and it’s public art in a Knoxville alley: New mural shows 6 faces
Knoxville’s latest work of public art is some 300 feet long, three stories tall and runs along a Market Square alley.
Seattle-based artist Addison Karl is creating the long, large mural whose concrete canvas highlights up-close, huge faces of six East Tennesseans painted across the color spectrum.
The work Karl’s named “Cassiopeia” is the latest of the murals he’s painted from Seattle to Washington, D.C., to Munich, Germany. Karl’s lost count of exactly how many murals he’s created but says it’s somewhere around 75.
