We as human beings long for relationship and unity. I have found both of these, as a white male, living in East Knoxville, a predominately black community. This is why I am telling the story of my community, so our city can see how we can benefit from learning how to truly live communally like East Knoxville has done for many years.

I am telling the story of East Knoxville from the perspective of someone who lives within the community and wants to share the beauty of life lived here. My desire is to share with people who live on the outskirts, and who may not understand or may hold ungrounded biases toward this community. I want to challenge people to look at life in East Knoxville with dignity, adoration and kindness. Not only do I want to share this beauty with outsiders, but also reflect with each other on moments and growth the community has experienced together.

Such a valuable and vibrant community causes us to appreciate and celebrate the beauty in East Knoxville as we do other areas of our city community.
