Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center: Family Fun Program
Join us at the Heritage Center in Townsend for the summer Family Fun program. This is a unique opportunity for families to participate in hands-on activities as they learn about the Great Smoky Mountains. As this program is meant to facilitate intergenerational learning, children must be accompanied by an adult. Family fun activities are included with museum admission or membership. Each week a different theme is studied. WEEKLY THEMES:
May 28 – May 31: Archaeology
June 4 – June 8: Native Americans of the Smoky Mountains
June 10 – June 14: Pioneer Life
June 17 – June 21: The Arts of Appalachia
June 24 – June 28: Education and Transportation in the Smokies
July 1 – 3: Flora and Fauna of the Southeastern Appalachian Mountains
