Exhibit at the Emporium

The Arts & Culture Alliance manages exhibitions at the Emporium, which include original artwork in various media. Works must be suitably framed/mounted, WIRED to hang, and generally ready to exhibit according to accepted Museum standards. Exhibition fees are discounted for Arts & Culture Alliance members (join here!).

+ There is no fee to submit a proposal or application.
+ Exhibitions open on the First Friday of each month and remain on display until the last Friday or Saturday of the month.
+ Commission on sales is 25%.
+ The Alliance hosts monthly opening celebrations during First Fridays downtown from 5:00-9:00 PM, typically welcoming more than 1,500 people that evening! We also receive numerous visitors throughout the month for private events, receptions, fundraisers, etc.
+ Regular gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM and select Saturdays, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM.

Artists/groups may not exhibit more than once during an 18 month period.

Gallery

#1 – The Emporium gallery on the lower level holds approximately 40-50 works with the Walker Hanging system; no nails are used, so artwork must be wired to hang. The space includes LED lighting on a track system. Approximately 160 linear feet is available (view  PDF layout). The Emporium has a number of pedestals available for sculptures. #2 – The Atrium on street level allows for salon style displays and can accommodate 10-20 works. Fee: $150 members, $200 non-members. Please note, this area receives direct sunlight for a couple of hours in late afternoon although window film blocks 99.9% of UV rays. Artists wishing to have an exhibition in the Atrium should email a proposal to sc@knoxalliance.com. The email should include these items: Proposed exhibition statement, Biography, Resume/CV if applicable, and 5-10 sample images with notations of title, size, and medium for each piece. A panel will review these submissions on an ongoing basis. Most exhibitions are scheduled 8+ months in advance.

#3 – The display case in the mezzanine on street level offers a secure exhibition space for jewelry, fine crafts, and smaller 2-D/3-D works and is situated in the front windows. Two spaces are 10.25” deep x 45.5” wide x 44” tall, and two spaces are 17.5” deep x 75” wide x 44” tall. Fee: $75 members, $100 non-members. Please note, this area does get warm from sunlight throughout the day, and it receives direct sunlight for a couple of hours in late afternoon.
