“Branding Yourself as an Artist” Workshop on January 13, 2016

The Arts & Culture Alliance is pleased to present a professional development seminar for artists and other creative people on Wednesday, January 13, from 5:30-7:30 PM at the Emporium Center in downtown Knoxville. Join us as we welcome R. L. Gibson.

During the first hour, you will learn how to create a strategy to more effectively present yourself and your work by discovering what you project and how others perceive you. You ARE your brand, and you have to be prepared to represent your brand every time you step out the door.  “Let’s walk through how to take control over how people see you and your work–artistically,” says Gibson. “From organizing your work to framing your social media presence, it all counts.”

During the second hour, Gibson will teach how branding yourself as an artist relates to planning your next show.  “No one can tell you what to create or how to be inspired, but you can choose a different way to think about your work,” says Gibson.  Do you wonder why some people easily get solo shows and you can’t ever get out of the juried pool? Planning and strategy are key. Find your niche, and don’t waiver from your brand.

The presentation is $8 for members of the Arts & Culture Alliance and $12 for non-members.  The Alliance will provide light snacks. Please register in advance via PayPal below, by phone at 865-523-7543, or by e-mail to sc@knoxalliance.com.
